Hi! I am Susan…

chapter1

I’ve always loved food and for the majority of my life everything has been centered around eating. Social eating, work eating, emotional eating…

Luckily, I never had to worry because I’ve always been very active and passionate about exercise and wellness. For most of my life, I lived in NYC and worked in the magazine industry. When I wasn’t fueling my body with unhealthy foods, I was walking everywhere, exercising and eating healthy.

For over seven years, I worked at Fitness Magazine, so even my work life was health focused. As a side bonus, I was the guinea pig for the newest workouts, gear and gyms and was in the know about healthy foods and the latest diet trends. I wasn’t overweight, so I believed I was healthy, and so did everyone around me.

chapter 2

Fast forward-I got married and had two children. In my early 40’s I moved with my family from Manhattan to the slower-paced suburbs of Rochester, NY.

Overnight, everything changed.

Shortly after, my body started to change too. I was experiencing middle-aged weight gain and for the first time in my life (besides pregnancy),I had extra weight around my middle. Stubborn weight.

What worked for me in the past to keep weight off wasn’t cutting it. Driving instead of walking everywhere didn’t help. I tried a few cookie-cutter diets, but they were ineffective (at least long-term) and unrealistic to maintain. I knew I needed to make a change. Lasting change.

When I decided to become a health coach and enrolled at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition-everything clicked into place.

What I didn’t expect was how the program would also lead to a life-changing personal transformation. While training,I immersed myself into growing and learning about what my body needs (and doesn’t) and how other areas of my life are all connected. I also came to the conclusion I may have looked like the picture of perfect health in the past, but over the years I had created some unhealthy eating and lifestyle habits.

Quite simply, by eating real foods (most of the time), exercising, nourishing healthy relationships (and ending the toxic ones), getting enough sleep and practicing self care, I lost weight, gained energy and feel more confident and happy than I ever have.

Learning from some of my favorite leaders in the health arena, Mark Hyman, MD, Deepak Chopra MD, Mehmet Oz, MD, coupled with my own life-changing transformation, provided me with direction, drive and confidence to launch chapter U health coaching LLC  and share my passion and knowledge to help women (and men) experience a simple, natural and lasting way to create weight loss and a healthier lifestyle so they thrive and enjoy what can be the best chapter of life.

I have created an entire arsenal of coaching programs centered around my unique and proven approach, the chapterU System. My clients have experienced profound health benefits (see testimonials). I am here to help you do the same and uncover what is right for you (with tons of encouragement and judgement-free support).

Like all of us, I am not perfect. However, my eating and lifestyle habits have been easy to sustain and continue to make me healthier and happier every day. My motto is progress is perfection. Age is just a number and so is the number on the scale. I won’t let either of them define me

Living life through this new lens, has also helped me to better cope and stay healthy during recent life challenges (suffering from a serious injury, surgery and years of rehab -see story here and living through the pandemic with upside down routines, teenagers and aging parents).

My motto is progress is perfection. Age is just a number and so is the number on the scale. I won’t let either of them define me

I changed my story as I began a new chapter in my life. You too can make real, lasting lifestyle changes; and become healthier, happier, more energized and confident.

You have the POWER to change your story and make this the best chapter of your life-chapterU!

It can be overwhelming and scary to make big changes to your health and lifestyle, break bad habits, and stay on track. That’s why I am committed to supporting you every step of the way.

Susan helped me not only lose weight, but learn a whole new way to think about eating smarter and how to nourish myself, be more aware and live a more all around happier, healthier and balanced life.
