Healthy-ish Margarita Recipe

Here’s a clean-ish margarita recipe that is much healthier for you. It still tastes great and is light and refreshing. Best part is, it only has a few ingredients and it’s super easy to make. This recipe is for one, but you can double or triple it.

INGREDIENTS

  • Salt & lime wedge

  • 1 1/2 ounces tequila of choice, about 3-4 tablespoons

  • 3 tablespoons freshly squeezed lime juice about 1 large lime (I use Santa Cruz bottled lime juice to simplify)

  • 1 1/2 tablespoons freshly squeezed orange juice about 1/2 medium orange (or store-bought orange juice with no added sugar)

  • 1/2 to1 teaspoon light agave nectar (you can add more if you like it sweeter)

  • Ice

DIRECTIONS

  • Prepare the glass(es): Pour a thin layer of salt onto a plate. Rub a lime wedge around the rim of your glass(es), then dip the glass(es) into the salt to make it stick. Add ice to the salted glass(es) and set aside.

  • For one (or two) drinks: put additional ice into a small cocktail shaker. Add the tequila, lime juice, orange juice and agave. Tightly close and shake vigorously for about 30 second. Pour into the salted glass over the ice. Enjoy immediately.

Enjoy!
