Simple Salad Dressing Recipe

Hey salad lovers! Do you know most store-bought salad dressings are loaded with sugar, artificial ingredients, canola oil and sodium? Pouring them onto your salads is a quick way to make a healthy meal really unhealthy.

Besides reading labels and finding a less-processed option, an easy and healthy alternative is to make your own. (Bragg Ginger Sesame Dressing and Newman’s Own Salad Dressings are my two favorite store brands)

Here is a simple recipe you can use at home. The beauty of this recipe is you can modify ingredients for variety and to suit your taste and there are no exact measurements.

Enjoy!

Equipment: mason jar with lid or all-in one salad dressing container (mixer, storage and pourer) with lid

Pick oil: extra virgin olive, flax, walnut, or avocado oil

Mix oil with: lemon, lime, balsamic vinegar, apple cider or wine vinegar (about a 3 to 1 ratio-experiment)

Add in: Dijon mustard, salt, freshly ground black pepper, crushed garlic, fresh or dried herbs such as basil, oregano, onion and rosemary

Option to make it creamier/thicker: add avocado or tahini

We eat salad almost every night at my house. I make a big batch of dressing and store it in a mason jar to use throughout the week. I use different ingredients to add variety. Enjoy!
